Colour Theory.

Our group's collection of orange objects....

We then categorised them in accordance with the surrounding colours (i.e red and yellow) thus distinguishing the tertiary colours.

Our class colour wheel....

Orange is a secondary colour at its purest form. However, there are many variations of orange; these are tertiary colours. These variations are a result of adjusting the chromatic values, hue, saturation and luminance; shade, tone and tint. All these colours have been categorised in the pantone swatch booklets, each with an individual corresponding code.
We selected 10 objects which we thought were a representation of our collection and pantone matched each object using the swatch booklets. There are a variety of pantone swatch booklets which are specific to what medium is being used.

To begin with we were working with the solid uncoated swatch; we found it rather challenging to find the pantone colour corresponding to our objects as the majority were coated. Therefore, we used the solid coated swatch booklet; this what we found.

This is our pantone swatch of our 10 objects.....
